Microsoft delays launch of Surface Hub
Microsoft is delaying the launch of its new Surface Hub collaboration platform. Announced first in January, the Hub was opened for pre-orders at the start of July. Microsoft said demand has been strong since then, prompting the company to rethink its manufacturing process and scale up production. As a result, the device will not start shipping to customers from 01 September as previous planned. Microsoft said it would come with more details on the launch date in early August.

The announcement in a blog post also said the group is working on expanding distribution of the entire Surface range to reach more business customers. Microsoft said it will expand its channel to go from having a few hundred partners selling and servicing Surface to "a few thousand globally" in the coming months.

Powered by Windows 10, Surface Hub is a large-screen collaboration device with hardware, software and connected services from Microsoft. Available in 55-inch or 84-inch models, the Surface Hub is designed around a highly responsive screen built for ink and touch. Dual 1080p front-facing video cameras and a four-element microphone array support integrated videoconferencing and collaboration sessions over Microsoft software.
