Microsoft prices USD 17 bln offering

Microsoft said it has priced an offering of USD 17 billion worth of senior unsecured notes. The money will be put towards general corporate purposes. These may include funding for working capital, capex, share buybacks, acquisitions and for paying back debt. The transaction is expected to close on 6 February 2017.

The notes are being offered in different tranches, including USD 1.5 billion worth of 1.850 percent notes due 6 February 2020, USD 1.75 billion of 2.400 percent notes due 6 February 2022, USD 2.25 billion of 2.875 percent notes due 6 February 2024, USD 4.00 billion of 3.300 percent notes due 6 February 2027, USD 2.50 billion of 4.100 percent notes due 6 February 2037, USD 3.00 billion of 4.250 percent notes due 6 February 2047, and USD 2.00 billion of 4.500 percent notes due 6 February 2057.

Joint book-running managers are Barclays Capital, HSBC Securities (USA), Citigroup Global Markets, Credit Suisse Securities (USA), Goldman, Sachs & Co, JP Morgan Securities, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Morgan Stanley & Co, US Bancorp Investments, BNP Paribas Securities, and BNY Mellon Capital Markets.
