Netflix has increased its reach among young people in the Netherlands, setting a new online audience record in February, according to figures from GfK. For the first time, over half of 13-34 year-olds accessed the VoD service over a PC, tablet or smartphone.
Netflix's average reach across all age groups was 32.8 percent in February, equal to 4.7 million people 13 or older. That's in line with research by Telecompaper that shows Netflix had 2.4 million households as subscribers at the end of 2017. On average, 2.2 people per household use the service.
The GfK research puts Netflix as the 27th most visited website in the Netherlands. Google remains number one with a reach of 90.2 percent, followed by Facebook, YouTube and Google Maps. Bol.com is the highest ranked local site, at sixth place with an audience of 68.7 percent.
