Netflix to launch in Australia, NZ in March 2015
Netflix has announced Australia and New Zealand as its next countries for expansion. The streaming video service plans to launch there in March 2015. The offering will include its original series as well as other TV and films. The same as in other countries, customers receive a one-month free trial of the service and can cancel at anytime. Netflix will be available at launch on smart TVs, tablets and smartphones, computers and a range of internet-capable game consoles and set-top boxes. Additional details on pricing, programming and supported devices will be available at a later date.

The number of Australian homes with a Netflix subscription rose again in September to 968,000 (10.5%), up another 113,000 from 855,000 in August, the latest subscription data from Roy Morgan Research shows. Apple Music the most popular streaming service in NZ, AUS

Apple Music has overtaken Spotify as the most popular streaming music service in New Zealand and Australia, according to a report by Canadian company Sandvine cited on stuff.co.nz. The report also showed broader gains for Netflix, games platform Steam, and YouTube. Apple Music, which launched in June, was now accounting for 0.8 percent of mobile internet traffic at peak times, versus 0.6 percent for Spotify.

Netflix releases content details for Australian launch

Netflix has released details related to its paid streaming service launch in Australia in March. The US drama 'House of Cards' will headline the Netflix launch in Australia, The Sydney Morning Herald reports, citing Netflix chief content officer, Ted Sarandos. Netflix will launch its local service with the third season, and will also provide all three seasons on demand to Australian customers, Sarandos added.

Netflix launches prepaid cards in Mexico

Netflix has launched physical gift cards in select stores in the Mexican market, NexTV Latam reports. The gift cards works as prepaid cards and can be acquired at OXXO, 7-Eleven, Walmart, Superama, Liverpool, Chedraui, Palacio de Hierro, Office Max, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Bodega Aurrera and Sam's Club. The prepaid cards will be available for USD 7.3 and USD 22 and will be only valid in Mexico.
