Nokia head of MeeGo devices to leave company
Nokia's head of MeeGo Devices Ari Jaaksi has decided to leave the company. Jaaksi has decided to step down for personal reasons and will leave the company in a couple of weeks, Nokia press spokeswoman Eija-Riitta Huovinen told Dow Jones. The first devices based on MeeGo, developed with Intel, are expected to launch before the end of the year. MeeGo will be used for Nokia's top-end smartphone and tablet devices. Jaaksi joined Nokia in 1998 and has held a number of positions in the company, particularly within software development and strategy. In his current role as a sub-unit manager under MeeGo Computers head Alberto Torres, he has focused on development of the platform's software in cooperation with partner Intel. Huovinen said that the company is looking for candidates to fill his position.
