Nokia outsources IT, over 1,100 employees affected
Nokia has outlined plans to outsource its IT organisation, affecting around 1,120 employees. A total 820 employees with transfer with the IT operations to HCL Technologies and Tata Consultancy Services. TCS said it will take over management of Nokia's core applications for enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, product lifecycle management, supply chain management, enterprise information management (EIM) and corporate functions. 

Another 300 employees at Nokia's global IT organisation will be made redundant. The plan is part of the broader restructuring at Nokia aimed at lowering costs as the handset maker suffers a drop in sales. The majority of the employees affected by the IT outsourcing are based in Finland.

Nokia reports Q4 results better than expected

Nokia said its fourth-quarter results were better than expected, thanks to strong sales of its Lumia smartphones and lower costs. The company said its main Devices & Services division is expected to report an adjusted operating margin of breakeven to 2 percent, better than its earlier forecast of minus 6 percent, plus or minus four percentage points. Nokia to sell, lease back head office building

Nokia has agreed to sell and lease back its head office building in Espoo, Finland on a long-term lease to Finland-based Exilion. Nokia expects to complete the sale by the end of this year. The sale price is EUR 170 million. Nokia has operated in the 48,000-m2 building since 1997.

Nokia cuts jobs in Austria, moves CEE office to Budapest

Nokia cuts 900 more jobs at Hungarian plant in Komarom

Finnish company Nokia made redundant 900 employees at its facility in the Hungarian city of Komarom on 26 June, writes local publication Budapest Business Journal citing chairman of the plant's labour council Zoltan Laszlo. Nokia warns for poor results, plans 10,000 job cuts

Nokia has outlined plans to cut another 10,000 jobs, as it continues to suffer from tough competition. The company said its smartphones business is doing worse than expected in the second quarter, and competitive pressure on the entire handset business is expected to continue into Q3.
