Nos and Vodafone Portugal have signed an agreement to develop and share infrastructure on a national scale. The partnership will allow the two operators to make their commercial offers available, under a shared network, from the beginning of 2018.
The agreement covers the reciprocal sharing of dark fibre in about 2.6 million houses and includes the minimum sharing of 200 mobile towers.
Following this agreement, Nos's next-generation network coverage will exceed 4.4 million homes completed by the end of 2018, fully qualified to provide gigabit broadband services. Vodafone said the deal means the operator will increase its coverage over 50 percent in the next few years and be able to provide gigabit service to 40 percent of Portuguese homes and businesses.
