NSN wins Ooredoo Myanmar contract for 3G network
Nokia Solutions and Networks announced a contract with Ooredoo Myanmar to support its launch of 3G services nationwide in 2014. NSN will be the key supplier for its radio and core equipment and services. Under the two-year agreement, NSN will build a complete 3G radio access network on the 900 MHz and 2100 MHz bands based on its Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station and Multicontroller Radio Network Controller. 

As the supplier to Ooredoo Myanmar’s core network, NSN will provide its Liquid Core-based open Mobile Switching Center Server and open Media Gateway. The company will also supply Evolved Packet Core ready equipment, including Flexi NS (network server) and Flexi NG (network gateway). The contract also includes NSN’s Subscriber Data Management with its New Technology Home Location Register (NT-HLR) and One-NDS subscriber data management system. 

NSN will also provide its NetAct management system to ensure consolidated configuration, monitoring and network optimization for Ooredoo Myanmar’s 3G network. Furthermore, the company will provide its CEM on Demand and Serve atOnce Traffica to provide insights into the customer experience. The scope of the deal includes network implementation, planning and optimization, systems integration and care services including hardware, software and competence development services.
