
Obermann calls for 'Europe-only' internet services

Outgoing Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene Obermann has sharply criticised the NSA's internet surveillance operations and called for internet services where data being sent between two points in Europe does not leave European borders, reports Focus Online. He called for a 'major coalition' for trust and said that the UK should be left out of any data communications between Schengen countries following revelations that GCHQ ran its own mass surveillance programme.
