Obermann to step down as Ziggo CEO by September - report

Rene Obermann will step down as CEO of Dutch cable operator Ziggo in September at the latest, German magazine Focus reported, citing shareholder circles. A spokesman for the company told German news agency dpa that the claim was pure speculation and that no date has been set, adding that Ziggo's takeover by Liberty Global still has to be cleared by the cartel authorities.

Former Deutsche Telekom CEO Obermann started as CEO at Ziggo at the start of 2014, but has already said he will not stay with the company if the Liberty Global takeover is completed.

Dutch regulator delays market decisions pending takeovers

Dutch regulator ACM has delayed its decisions on the latest round of analyses of the fixed market, pending the outcome of competition decisions on the proposed acquisitions of Ziggo by Liberty Global and Reggefiber by KPN. Liberty Global grows revenues 2%, cash flow 8% in Q1

Cable operator Liberty Global added 370,000 revenue-generating units in the first quarter, for a total 48.64 million at the end of March.
