Oppo has expanded its smartphone portfolio in Western Europe with the introduction of the Oppo Reno6 5G and the Oppo Reno6 Pro 5G. Both devices are available immediately for EUR 499 (Reno6 5G) and EUR 799 (Reno6 Pro 5G).
The Oppo Reno6 5G is slightly smaller than the Pro version and has a 6.43-inch Amoled display. The Pro version has an Amoled display of 6.55 inches. The screen resolution of both devices is the same, at 1,080 x 2,400 pixels.
Oppo's Reno6 series is positioned by Oppo as 'camera smartphones'. The Reno6 5G has a triple camera setup consisting of a 64-megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens, an 8-megapixel camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel camera with a macro lens. The Pro version also has a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, both devices have a 32-megapixel camera.
The cameras in both devices offer extensive camera functions, including Bokeh Flare Portrait and AI Highlight Video modes. Bokeh Flare Portrait Video allows users to create scenes with subtly blurred backgrounds for a professional, cinematic result. It also delivers real-time video processing to capture portrait videos with bokeh flares in the background, while keeping the subject sharp and clear.
The AI Highlight Video function is powered by an algorithm that radically improves the exposure of moving and still images, resulting in bright and vibrant colors. The Ultra Steady Video mode also ensures that stable video images can be shot even with violent movements. The Ultra Dark mode allows users to take photos and videos under dark conditions.
Processor and working memory
The Oppo Reno6 5G runs on a 6nm quad-core processor from MediaTek and has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage capacity. The Reno6 Pro 5G is more luxurious with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
The Oppo Reno6 5G is equipped with a 4,300 mAh battery while the Reno6 Pro 5G has a 4,500 mAh battery. The batteries can be fully charged in 30 minutes thanks to Oppo's 65W Super VOOC 2.0 charging technology. Both devices run straight out of the box on Android 11, with Oppo placing its own skin 'Color OS 11.3'.
