Orange promotes Fernandez, Louette to Deputy CEO
Orange’s board has approved a proposal by CEO Stephane Richard to appoint Ramon Fernandez and Pierre Louette as Deputy CEOs from 1 January 2016. Including Gervais Pellissier, who was appointed Deputy CEO in November 2011, the group will now have three of them. Orange said these appointments are intended to strengthen the group's governance, “enabling it to better reflect the diversity of its activities and its challenges.” The three executives keep their current positions on Orange’s executive committee. 

A career civil servant, Fernandez left the Treasury to join Orange as CFO last September. From January he will be Deputy CEO in charge of group finance and strategy. He also sits on the board of Meditel and the supervisory boards of Iris Capital, Orange Polska and Euronext. 

Louette, a French telecom and media industry veteran, is Deputy CEO in charge of the general secretariat, Orange Wholesale France, group sourcing and supply chain, the Chrysalid operational efficiency programme, start-up investment, and digital ecosystem relationships. He is a board member of Jazztel, BuyIn, Dailymotion, Deezer and Iris Capital.

Orange targets return to EBITDA growth in 2016

Orange stabilised its adjusted EBITDA in 2015 and said it aims for a return to growth in 2016. The company reported a result of EUR 12.43 billion for the year, up 0.1 percent on an organic basis and 1.9 percent higher on a reported basis. Orange names diplomat as international relations advisor

Orange has appointed Michel Reveyrand-de Menthon as advisor to the chairman and CEO, in charge of international relations. Reveyrand's most recent role was as EU special representative to the Sahel, having previously served as France's ambassador to Mali and in various roles at the foreign ministry, treasury and development department. Besides government positions, Reveyrand started as an academic and worked at Dexia between 1994 and 1998.

Spanish broadband operator Jazztel has announced a renewal of its board of directors following its takeover by Orange. In a statement to Spain's market regulator CNMV, the operator confirmed that Orange Spain's CEO Jean-Marc Vignolles has been named new CEO of Jazztel, while Jazztel's former CEO Jose Miguel Garcia will now be associate CEO of both companies. French treasury director picked as Orange CFO - report

France's treasury director, Ramon Fernandez, will replace Gervais Pellissier as CFO of Orange under an agreement reached between the government and the operator, the Wall Street Journal reports. People familiar with the matter said Pellissier would take another role at Orange, which is 27 percent state-owned, possibly related to its international presence. Fernandez has been a civil servant for his whole career and before his appointment at Treasury he represented France at the International Monetary Fund.
