Over 20% of Dutch own a tablet - Telecompaper
More than one in five (22%) Dutch households owned a tablet in the second quarter, and 4 percent of these even had two or more tablets, according to Telecompaper's "Dutch Tablet User Q2 2012" report, based on a survey of over 6,000 consumers. Around 16 percent of consumers plan to buy a tablet within the next six months; most said they will likely get an Apple iPad. Apple is the leader on the Dutch market, where it is estimated to have sold over 770,000 iPads. Samsung is second, following at some distance. The operating system, brand and price are the most important factors for consumers buying a tablet, although for Apple users, price is somewhat less relevant. Only 29 percent of tablet users buy a separate mobile data subscription for their device, while the majority use Wi-Fi at home. Around two-thirds of time spent on a tablet is at home. Younger people are more likely to use the tablet on the go and at school or work.
