BT Group announced that Gavin Patterson will step down as CEO later in 2018, with a search to find his successor already launched by the Board. BT Chairman Jan du Plessis said the Board was fully supportive of the recent strategy laid by out by Patterson, but said the reaction to recent announcements showed there was need for a change in leadership to deliver this strategy.
The Board expects to have his successor in place during second-half 2018, with Patterson continuing to serve as CEO until then. For the remainder of his term, he will continue to be paid on the same basis as outlined in BT's 2018 Annual Report, except that he will not receive the 2018 Incentive Share Plan.
