Polish mobile operator P4, working under the Play brand, is negotiating with the cable operator Vectra to offer fixed broadband services to its customers, reports Telko.in citing sources familiar with the matter. The mobile operator plans to provide fixed broadband services to its customers on the basis of the network of Vectra.
The companies declined to comment on the report.
Play has focused exclusively on mobile services to date, while also recently introducing an OTT TV service and home broadband over LTE. Its rivals T-Mobile and Plus have expanded recently into also offering fixed services. Play recently agreed to acquire Katowice-based company 3S for a total of PLN 410 million, giving it a fibre network and data centres.
