RIM launches LTE PlayBook in Canada
Research In Motion unveiled a LTE version of its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. The device features a 7-inch display, front and rear HD video cameras, 32GB storage, HDMI out and stereo speakers. It will run the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 software, including an improved native browser with HTML5 functionality, unified messaging and social networking, built-in Calendar and Contacts apps and access to the recently launched BlackBerry Video Store. The LTE PlayBook will be available in Canada first, from 09 August with Bell Canada, Rogers Wireless and Telus. Additional variants of the tablet supporting various high-speed mobile networks will launch in the coming months from carriers in the US, Europe, South Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
