Russian govt plans to cut stake in Rostelecom

The Russian government plans to reduce its stake in national operator Rostelecom, reports Tass. A draft document on a privatisation programme for several state-owned companies for the period until 2022 has been submitted to parliament.

The exact terms of the privatisation programme should be approved by the government, taking into account the market situation and opinion of consultants.

Rostelecom to give 17% stake to VTB for Tele2 Russia shares

Russian state-owned bank VTB will become the owner of a 17 percent stake in the national operator Rostelecom, reports Tass citing Andrey Kostin, the head of the bank. The stake will be transferred to VTB under a deal for Rostelecom to take full control of the mobile operator Tele2 Russia.
