Samsung, Apple patent claims rejected by German court
The German Regional Court in Mannheim has rejected two patent cases involving Samsung and Apple on 02 March, according to Foss Patents. Judge Andreas Voss rejected one infringement claim by Apple concerning its slide-to-lock technology and one of three 3G/UMTS standard-essential patents claimed by Samsung. Samsung said it intends to appeal against the claim's dismissal. Apple did not comment on the subject, but is expected to appeal as well.

Apple filed a complaint against Motorola Mobility with the European Commission, accusing the company of violating a pledge to license industry-standard patents on fair terms. Apple continues to seek a ban of Samsung products in NL

Apple will try in a higher court to ban the sale of some Samsung products in the Netherlands, namely the Galaxy S II smartphone, Nu.nl reported. Apple lost a lawsuit in August and another more recently in January. It wanted a ban against the sale of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets in the Netherlands.
