Samsung develops 5nm Exynos processor chip for Google's next Pixel smartphone - report
Samsung Electronics will provide a customized 5-nanometer Exynos processor chip to Google. The chip will be embedded in Google’s next Pixel smartphone, The Korea Times reports. The chipset is expected to be made with Samsung's 5nm LPE process. The Exynos octa-core processor allegedly features two Cortex-A78 CPU cores, dual Cortex-A76 CPU cores, and four Cortex-A55 CPU cores.

The chipset could use ARM's soon to be released Mali MP20 GPU microarchitecture.

Samsung Electronics declined to confirm the reports.

Google is set to follow in Apple's steps by featuring its own custom-designed smartphone processor in future Pixel smartphones and Chromebooks starting next year, according to unnamed sources cited by website Axios, confirming recent reports.
