Samsung hits 400,000 Galaxy Note 8 preorders in Korea on first day
Samsung Electronics has announced that the combined preorders for its Galaxy Note 8 in South Korea reached nearly 400,000 units on the first day, Yonhap news agency reports. According to Samsung, around 395,000 consumers applied to purchase the phablet on 7 September.

Samsung saw 550,000 Galaxy S8 smartphone preorders in the first two days. The 64GB edition accounted for 65 percent, with the most popular color being blue. The 64GB Galaxy Note 8 is available for KRW 1.09 million, and the 256GB Galaxy Note 8 will be on sale for KRW 1.25 million. 

The Galaxy Note 8 is scheduled for commercial launch on 21 September. Customers who preorder the device will receive it on 15 September.

The report also shows that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 accounted for 28.3 percent of all smartphones sold in the country in the second week of October.

Samsung Electronics has announced that the combined preorders for its Galaxy Note 8 in South Korea reached nearly 800,000 units in one week, Yonhap news agency reports. According to Samsung, around 850,000 consumers ordered the phablet during the eight days it received online and offline reservations for purchase through the country's three mobile operators.

Samsung Electronics said it aims to launch a foldable smartphone next year under its Galaxy Note brand. Koh Dong-jin, president of mobile business at Samsung Electronics, confirmed the plans to reporters, AP reports. However, he said there are several hurdles it has to overcome, leaving room to push back the release if those problems are not solved.

Samsung to launch Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders in Korea on 7 September

Samsung Electronics will start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 8 this week. The 64 GB Galaxy Note 8 will be available on the local market for KRW 1.09 million (approximately USD 962), while the 256GB version will be on sale for KRW 1.25 million, Yonhap news agency reports. Samsung said pre-orders will start on 7 September and run till 14 September, with the commercial release scheduled for 21 September. Customers who pre-order the device will receive it on 15 September.

Refurbished editions of the Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 were sold out in the South Korean market two months after launch, Yonhap news agency reports, citing unnamed industry sources. According to the sources, around 400,000 units of the refurbished device, dubbed 'Galaxy Note FE', were sold in South Korea. Samsung launched its Galaxy Note FE phablet on the local market in July.
