Samsung signs VR partnerships with UFC, X-Games, Live Nation

Samsung Electronics announced VR Live Pass on Gear VR, a lineup of global, live entertainment partnerships with the UFC, X Games and Live Nation which will be available through the Samsung VR app from early June. Samsung said it will stream selected live events so fans can access immersive virtual reality broadcasts of their favorite action sports and music events through the Gear VR platform.

Samsung recently expanded its global presence to 45 countries, enabling more consumers around the world to enjoy the Gear VR platform. The live broadcasts will kick off beginning in June.

Gear VR users will be given an unrivaled ‘live pass’ to shows, where they will witness live action shots and extreme close-ups, taking spectatorship to an entirely new level. Gear VR users will be able to access this content at no cost.

South Korean operator SK Telecom is showcasing its AR·VR platform dubbed 'T Real VR Studio' at Google I/O 2017, taking place in Mountain View, California from 17 to 19 May.
