
The trilateral agreement between Now Corp, Now Telecom and SK Telecom covers 5G collaboration and development areas, such as Technical Roadmap Planning – Network Conceptualization and Design – 5G Core Network Training – Establishment of 5G stand-alone (SA) network commercial infrastructure – In-building Solutions and 5G B2B Service Development. SK Telecom also plans to extend its 5G-based applications and services to serve enterprises and home broadband users in the Philippines.
South Korea launched the world’s first commercial 5G service in April this year. SK Telecom recently announced it had passed the milestone of 1 million 5G subscribers in the first 140 days since the launch of its 5G network on 3 April. The company’s 5G subscribers account for more than 3.5 percent of SK Telecom’s total subscriber base of 28 million.
