Sony launches durable phones in Xperia range
Sony Mobile announced two new phones in its Xperia smartphone line. The Xperia go and Xperia acro S offer scratch-resistant displays and extra protection against dust and water. They will be available globally from the third quarter. Sony said consumers regularly cite durability as a key feature desired in smartphones, and notably its Xperia acro HD, which has the same durability and water resistance features as the acros S, has been the best-selling smartphone in Japan since its launch in March. The Xperia go comes with a 3.5-inch display, 5MP camera, 1GHz processor and Android 2.3, to be upgraded later to Android 4.0. It will be available in black, white and yellow and launch in the US under the name Xperia advance. The Xperia acro S features a 4.3-inch 720p HD display, NFC, 12MP camera, 1.5GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.0 at launch. It will be available in black, white and pink. Both phones will also feature Sony's music and video services.
