The Xperia Z2 tablet updates Sony's first tablet with a slimmer design, a new Triluminos display and additional accessories such as a Bluetooth speaker dock with magnetic charging pad and Bluetooth remote control. The Xperia Z2 smartphone and tablet will both launch worldwide from March.
Sony also announced a new mid-range smartphone, the Xperia M2. The Android phone comes with an 8MP camera with Exmor RS, LTE and a package of three movies, 30 days free of Music Unlimited service and a range of PlayStation games. It will launch worldwide from April.
In addition, Sony said it will launch a new Lifelog application for its SmartBand launched at CES in Janaury. It will be available from March in over 60 markets worldwide. The company also signed a deal with Fifa to make the SmartBand and SmartWatch 2 the official smartphone accessories of the upcoming 2014 World Cup.
To support the new Xperia products, Sony is launching the #XperiaDetails global marketing campaign. The campaign is centered on a 90-second brand film, depicting a day in the life of French dancer and choreographer Jeremie Belingard. Five more 30-second vignettes will be rolled out over the weeks ahead, to explain key experiences on offer to the Xperia Z2 user in more detail.
