At a press conference in Tokyo, Sony said it's working on mobile versions of popular PlayStation games such as 'Everybody golfs,' 'Wild Arms', 'Arc the Lad', 'What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord?' and 'Parappa the Rapper'. It's also working with other game developers such as Square Enix and Gree on new titles.
The games were unveiled along with a new slate that can connect to game cards to a tablet or phone. Called Project Field, the pad detects when a game card or figurine is placed on it and connects with the tablet to register and track the card's position in the game. A SDK will be released for game developers to incorporate the pads in their titles. The first game to support the pads is 'Yokai Watch' from Level-5.
Sony did not disclose when Project Field will be released, saying it will happen once games for the device are ready, Bloomberg reported. The company said the device could in future be developed to connect to other devices such as the Playstation game console or TVs.
