Spain leads in LTE speeds, Korea in coverage
Spain has the fastest LTE services, according to the latest results from Open Signal. The country averaged a mobile broadband speed of 18 Mbps over LTE in November 2014 to January 2015, according to measurements with the Open Signal app by some 11 million people worldwide. Vodafone Spain had the fastest LTE network with an average speed of 25.5 Mbps. 

South Korea's LG Uplus offered the best LTE coverage, based on time spent on LTE, reaching 99 percent. This helped South Korea take the top spot among countries for LTE coverage, with 95 percent of mobile broadband use over LTE. 

At the bottom of the rankings were 3 UK for time spent on LTE and US operator Cricket, part of AT&T, for speed of LTE. Argentina was last in terms of percentage time on LTE (34%), and Saudi Arabia scored last in LTE speeds (3 Mbps). 

Overall the measurements showed LTE is clearly faster than 3G, at an average 9.3 Mbps versus 2.5 Mbps over HSPA+ and 1.5 Mbps on basic 3G. Wi-Fi scored an average speed of 4.4 Mbps
