T-Mobile NL lauches 4G for Home as alternative to fixed line

T-Mobile Netherlands has launched ‘4G voor Thuis’ (4G for Home), which it is touting as an alternative to landline internet. The service provides internet via a 4G modem, which transforms the 4G signal into a Wi-Fi one that can be used to simultaneously connect 32 devices. With the service, the operator is targeting households that suffer from slow or unstable landline internet.

4G for Home is available with three different internet bundles: 25 GB, 50 GB, and 100 GB, for EUR 30, EUR 40 and EUR 50 respectively, so that users can determine which data plan best suits their needs. The subscription can be adjusted up or down every month, or temporarily paused. It can be canceled at the end of any month.  Customers will be able to try 4G for Home for one month without obligation.

Customers with an internet bundle of 50 GB or 100 GB will be able to use unlimited internet every night from midnight to 6.00 am, without using any data from their monthly internet bundle. T-Mobile NL said this will be useful for customers who want to download large files or schedule system backups. If customers go through their data bundle, their connection will stop. They can therefore not use internet outside the bundle and rack up unexpected additional costs. Customers can, on a monthly basis, supplement their bundles with 5 GB, 25 GB or 100 GB.

The new service was developed from the beginning in cooperation with customers and is for the moment aimed only for private use. T-Mobile NL says it is important to not only innovate, but to do this hand in hand with customers, partners, employees and marketers. In this way, it can ensure that the service continuously meets the needs of users, both in terms of technology and in terms of use.
