
T-Mobile US has provided preliminary customer number for the fourth quarter, saying it added 2.1 million total net customers, 1.3 million branded postpaid net customers, 917,000 branded postpaid phone net customers and 469,000 branded prepaid net customers. Branded postpaid phone churn fell 27 basis points year-on-year to 1.46 percent in the quarter.
The numbers mean that for the full year, the operator added 8.3 million total net customers, 4.5 million branded postpaid net customers, 3.5 million branded postpaid phone net customers and 1.3 million branded prepaid net customers. The 4.5 million postpaid net adds exceeded the company's guidance of 3.8-4.2 million.
Wholesale net customer additions were 301,000 in the fourth quarter of 2015 and 2.4 million for full-year 2015.
At the end of Q4, T-Mobile had 63.28 million net customers, 13.95 million wholesale customers, 17.63 million branded prepaid customers, and 2.3 branded postpaid customers. The operator’s 4G network covered 304 million people.
