T-Mobile US announced strong subscriber growth in the third quarter to date, already surpassing its Q2 figures as it continues to win over customers from bigger rivals. The company has added a net 753,000 branded postpaid phone customers since the end of June, surpassing the gains of 646,000 in Q2, and also signed up 650,000 prepaid users in the quarter so far.
T-Mobile estimates it took over 250,000 customers from Verizon, nearly 400,000 from AT&T and almost 300,000 from Sprint in Q3, as well as adding customers new to the market and from smaller mobile providers.
T-Mobile reiterated its full-year guidance and said it will provide a full update on its growth outlook for 2016 at its Q3 2016 earnings report in late October. The sales update comes ahead of a presentation by T-Mobile executives at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference in New York on 22 September.
