Telecity appoints Hageman as CFO
Data centre operator Telecity appointed Eric Hageman to its board as CFO, effective from 1 September. Hageman's most recent role was member of the board of management and CFO of Dutch telecoms operator KPN. Prior to this role, Hageman held a number of senior positions at KPN, including CEO of KPN Belgium, CFO of KPN Mobile International, Head of M&A and Head of Investor Relations.

Telia names ex-KPN CFO Hageman as new group CFO from September

Telia Company has announced the appointment of Eric Hageman as group chief financial officer (CFO) and executive management member from 15 September. He succeeds Per Christian Morland, whose departure from the group at the end of September had already been announced. Hageman has previously held senior executive positions at Royal KPN, including group CFO and CEO at KPN Belgium (Base), and group CFO roles at TelecityGroup, IWG and William Hill.

Telecity, Interxion agree all-share merger

The European data centre operators Interxion and Telecity have agreed an all-share merger. The deal will take the form of a Telecity bid for Interxion, with the new company to remain listed in London. Interxion shareholders would receive 2.3386 new TelecityGroup shares for each Interxion share held, giving them 45 percent of the combined group. Telecity CEO Tobin to step down

Data centre operator Telecity has confirmed that Michael Tobin is to step down as CEO of the company and will leave Telecity following a period of handover on 31 October. The company said Tobin would receive a termination payment of GBP 752,862.50 in lieu of his 12-month notice period and a a compensation payment of GBP 70,000. The board will commence an immediate search for a successor to Tobin, with chairman John Hughes assuming executive responsibilities during the transition period.

Telecity grows H1 revenues 9.3%

Data centre operator Telecity reported first-half revenue up 9.3 percent year-on-year to GBP 174.1 million. Adjusted EBITDA rose 10.7 percent to GBP 81.6 million, and the margin improved 60bps to 46.9 percent. Adjusted EPS was up 12.0 percent from a year ago to 19.6 pence, and Telecity increased its interim dividend by 28.6 percent to 4.5 pence per share. KPN names former finance minister as CFO

KPN has named the firmer Dutch finance minister Jan-Kees de Jager as its new CFO and member of the management board. He served in the Dutch cabinet from 2007-2012, first as state secretary for finance (2007-10) and then minister of finance (2010-12). Telecity founder starts DataCentred with fresh funding

Telecity founder Mike Kelly wants to return to the data centre market and has received funding from venture capitalist Jon Moulton for his first centre, to be based at Manchester's MediaCityUK, the Financial Times reported. The Loop network connects to Telecity data centres

The Loop fibre-optic cable ring in Manchester has been connected to four data centres operated by Telecity Group, reports TheBusinessDesk.com. The scale of the investment was not disclosed. The Loop owner Gamma and Telecity said that the move would boost high-capacity fibre connectivity available to businesses in Manchester. The Loop network supports speeds of 1 Gbps and was initially installed by Atlantic Telecom ahead of the Manchester Commonwealth Games.
