Telecom Italia launches VoLTE service

Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced the launch of a Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service called ‘Voce 4G’, offering significantly improved voice quality and simultaneous access to 4G data connections without interruptions. The service is available now at no extra cost for subscribers to the TIM Special Unlimited plan with compatible devices, including the Samsung S6, S6 Edge, LG G4 and Microsoft Lumia 950. Last month Telecom Italia launched its upgraded LTE-A (4G+) service in Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin, Genoa and Prato, giving customers mobile connectivity speeds of up to 300 Mbps thanks to the aggregation of three available LTE spectrum bands (800, 1800 and 2600 MHz).

At the same time, the operator announced a festive offer dubbed ‘Natale Giga gratis’, giving all prepay customers who activate the promotion by 07 January one month of free mobile internet access.

TIM targets senior users with new mobile offer

TIM (Telecom Italia) has unveiled an offer aimed at users over 60 years of age as part of a summer revamp of its range of mobile plans. The operator's new TIM 60+ plan includes 1GB of data at 4G speeds, 400 minutes of calls and three months' access to the TimEntertainment service for EUR 12 per month. A further 500 minutes of calls or 1GB of data can be added for an additional EUR 5 per month. The offer is available now and runs until 30 September.
