Telecom Italia to name new CEO by end-September - report

Telecom Italia (TIM) is looking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer to replace Flavio Cattaneo by the end of September and has hired head hunter Egon Zehnder to find a suitable candidate, reports Il Messaggero. The current favourite for the position is the company’s deputy chairman Giuseppe Recchi, with TIM’s newly-appointed general manager for operations Amosh Genish and Paolo Dal Pino, head of tyre company Prometeon, also in the running, said the report.

Previous chief executive Flavio Cattaneo left Telecom Italia in July after just 16 months in the post, with Vivendi CEO and new TIM chairman Arnaud de Puyfontaine temporarily taking over most of Cattaneo’s responsibilities.
