Telecompaper: jongeren kiezen vooral BlackBerry en Samsung

BlackBerry en Samsung trekken vooral een jongeren aan, terwijl Nokia en Motorola de oudste handsetgebruikers hebben. Zestig procent van de Nokia en Motorola gebruikers is ouder dan 40 jaar. Nokia is de populairste handset brand op de Nederlandse markt voor consumenten tussen de 30 en 64 jaar. Samsung is het populairste toestellenmerk voor gebruikers met een leeftijd tussen de 15 en 18 jaar. Dat blijkt uit het Dutch Mobile Consumer Q3-2010 onderzoek van Telecompaper. Het rapport geeft een profiel van de handset gebruiker op basis van het Telecompaper consumentenpanel (14.000 consumenten tussen april en september), zoals het gebruikte sales kanaal, de gebruikte diensten en het uitgave patroon.

Apple en HTC smartphone gebruikers blijken gemiddeld meer uit te geven dan de gebruikers van andere handset brands. Ook hebben zij een ander profiel. Smartphone gebruikers zijn gemiddeld hoger opgeleid en hebben bijna allemaal een postpaid abonnement. Verder wordt het abonnement van de smartphone gebruiker vaker door hun baas betaald. BlackBerry gebruikers versturen de meeste SMSjes, gevolgd door Apple en LG. 36 procent van de gebruikers sluit zijn abonnement online af. Handsets worden daarentegen ongeveer even vaak online verkocht als in de winkel. Een uitzondering hierop vormt de BlackBerry, die vaker in een winkel wordt verkocht.

Dutch Mobile Consumer Q3 2010 - Handset Edition

The report Dutch Mobile Consumer Q3-2010 gives detailed information on the demographics of the consumers, their sales channel, reason for selecting a provider, average spending, most used services and use of additional bundles next to the running subscription. The Dutch Mobile Consumer 2010-Q3 report will be available for purchase in two different editions. This report gives edition gives insight split per mobile handset brand: Nokia, Samsung, SonyEricsson, LG, HTC, Motorola, Apple, Blackberry, Operator-branded, and Others, on the following aspects: Split per Age-group, Gender, Postpaid/Prepaid, Packages/Sim Only, Personal income and Education; Sales channels; Which kind of e-shop did the consumer use for sales via internet. Which kind of 'brick-and-mortar' shop did he use to buy his mobile connection; What are the top seven reasons for the consumer for selecting his current mobile provide; What is the average spend per consumer (All, Postpaid, Prepaid), and who pays the monthly fees, call charges, etc; Which additional bundles, like SMS, internet, etc, is the consumer subscribed to besides his normal voice subscription; What are the top five most used services, and what are the number of SMS send per month. Report is based on the responses of almost 14,000 respondents from our Telecompaper Consumer Panel during the period April - September 2010. Results are CBS stratified for gender and age (15-64). In our panel, we ask every month at least 2,000 consumers about their use of mobile telephony, broadband connections, fixed telephony and TV, including details on their current situation, purchasing habits, usage and churn.
