Telefonica increases 2011 dividend by 14.3%
Telefonica's dividend for this year will increase by 14.3 percent to EUR 1.60 per share, versus the previous year's dividend of EUR 1.40 per share. In 2010, Telefonica's shareholders saw a 21.7 percent dividend increase to EUR 1.40 per share. The operator will pay this year's dividend in two tranches, the first to be paid in the second half of 2011, and the second to be paid within the first six months of 2012. Additionally, Telefonica has confirmed its target to pay a dividend of at least EUR 1.75 per share in 2012.

Telefonica will pay on 6 May an interim dividend from 2011 net income, of a fixed gross amount of EUR 0.75 per share. The payment of this dividend will be executed by Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, through the participating entities in Iberclear, the Spanish entity in charge of registration, clearing and settlement of securities. With this dividend and the one paid on November 2010, the Company has completed its commitment to distribute a dividend of EUR 1.40 per share for 2010.

Telefonica targets a compound annaul growth rate of 1-4 percent in revenues over the period 2010 to 2013. The company gave the forecast at an analyst meeting in London.
