Telekom Austria appoints new strategy director
Dieter Trimmel, director of the Market Development Unit at A1, has been appointed Director of Group Strategy for the Telekom Austria Group. In this dual function, he will be responsible for the overall strategy development and strategic planning for both the Telekom Austria Group and A1. He replaces former director of Group Strategy, Georg Donaubauer, who is leaving the company at his own request.

Telekom Austria Q1 revenue down 7%, EBITDA falls 5%

Telekom Austria reported first-quarter revenue down 7.0 percent year-on-year to EUR 975.9 million, hurt by regulation, competition in its home market and currency inflation in Belarus. The mobile customer base fell 1.1 percent over the year to 19.99 million at the end of March. EBITDA was down 5.0 percent to EUR 319.9 million, and net profit was down 26.5 percent to EUR 40.8 million. Capital expenditure was reduced by a third compared to a year ago to EUR 99.4 million, while operating cash flow dropped 22.4

Telekom Austria Group appoints new CFO

Telekom Austria Group has announced the appointment of Siegfried Mayrhofer as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Telekom Austria Group as of 01 June. The appointment is for a one-year term, with Mayrhofer succeeding Hans Tschuden, whose contract expires on 31 May. Mayrhofer has served as CFO of A1 Telekom Austria since July 2009. He will maintain this position in addition to his new appointment.

America Movil announced plans to launch a takeover bid for the rest of Telekom Austria, as part of a proposed shareholders agreement with the Austrian state.
