Telia Denmark CEO steps down after 15 years

Telia Denmark has announced the departure at the end of August of CEO Morten Bentzen after fifteen years with the company, starting there when it was still owned by Orange. Bentzen said it was a difficult decision but time was now right to try new challenges, adding that he will take time to choose the next step in his career.

Bentzen will be succeeded on an interim basis by Thomas Kjaersgaard, who heads Telia's corporate services segment. Recruitment of a permanent CEO is under way.

Telia Denmark suffers decline in Q3 sales as subscriber numbers wane

Telia Company has reported a decline in sales in Denmark in the third quarter, but the Danish CEO said EBITDA was satisfactory given the competitive nature of the market. Like-for-like service revenues decreased by 6.0 percent as the company lost mobile subscribers and as ARPU declined, too. Service loss in the fixed segment was mostly in broadband and television.

Telia Company names CFO Luiga acting CEO

Telia Company announced the appointment of CFO Christian Luiga as acting CEO from 12 September. He replaces Johan Dennelind, who announced in August plans to step down. Dennelind will remain available as an adviser until he leaves the company in 2020 and to assist in closing the acquisition of Bonnier Broadcasting.

Telia Denmark starts migrating DSL broadband customers to EWII's fibre

Telia Denmark said the agreement announced in spring with regional provider EWII has now reached the roll-out stage. The two sides said in April that they would team up to provide fibre connectivity in the Triangle Region of Jutland formed by the towns of Billund, Fredericia, Haderslev, Middelfart, Vejen, Vejle and Kolding. Telia will move its DSL subscribers to EWII's fibre infrastructure to improve broadband stability, speed and capacity.

Telia Denmark reported a fall in second quarter net sales after a drop in mobile interconnection revenues. The operator lost 5,000 mobile subscribers and 10,000 fixed broadband customers during the period.

Telia Denmark Q1 revenues drop but local currency EBITDA rises 1%

Telia Denmark reported a decline in first quarter net sales and service revenues but said the figures show it continues to run a stable business. Danish CEO Morten Bentzen said despite a reduced top line, its profits and customer base are largely unchanged, with EBITDA in local currency up by 1 percent. He put this down to its focus on improving procedures and efficiency, boosting customer satisfaction.

TeliaSonera completes Orange Denmark purchase

TeliaSonera has concluded its deal with France Telecom to purchase Orange Denmark. Telia Mobile and Orange will be integrated to form Telia Mobile. Telia Mobile currently has around 1.1 million subscribers. TeliaSonera paid EUR 605.8 million for Orange Denmark. Telia Mobile's president will be Jesper Broeckner, and its head office will be in Copenhagen, Denmark. Capital spending related to the merger will be around SEK 250 million.

Telia's and Orange's merger in Denmark will create the second largest telecoms firm in the country and will result in job cuts. TeliaSonera has signed an agreement with France Telecom to acquire Orange Denmark, with 605,000 mobile customers in Denmark. State sells Orange Denmark stake

Orange Denmark has bought out all minority shareholders in the firm, including the Danish state and now has full ownership of its Danish subsidiary, Boersen reported. The Danish state received payment of DKr 104 million (EUR 14.8 million) for its stake of some 10 percent in the firm. The deal is subject to the Danish state and other minority shareholders in Denmark dropping a legal case against Orange in which DKr 286 million has been demanded for the Orange stakes.
