Telia Denmark introduces unlimited data plan for Nordic, Baltic region

Telia Denmark is introducing a new mobile subscription under the name Telia One, providing unlimited data across Telia's footprint in the Nordic and Baltic regions, as well as 20 GB of data for roaming in the EU each month. This service costs DKK 249 per month (EUR 33), and includes unlimited calls, texts and MMS in the Nordic and Baltic regions and in the EU. 

The operator said that in 2017, 21 percent of its mobile customers ran out of data on their plan. The new offer aims to address the growing need for data and give customers the freedom to use as much as they need.

Telia is offering two other new mobile subscriptions, too. Smart 6 costs DKK 129 per month and supplies 6 GB of mobile internet for use in the Nordic and Baltic regions, as well as 5 GB for EU roaming. Smart 15 costs DKK 149 and provides 15 GB for the Nordic/Baltic area and 10 GB for the EU. Both Smart 6 and Smart 15 allow unlimited voice calls/SMS/MMS in the Nordic and Baltic regions and the EU.

Telia also offers a number of other digital services that customers can combine with their mobile plan, such as Telia TV, HBO Nordic and Spotify Premium. These are offered at the discounted price of DKK 50 per month with the One plan.

Danish operator TDC said there has been no change in Danes' top seven favourite foreign holiday destinations this year, based on mobile roaming usage. Germany retained the lead, Italy including the Vatican state came second, Spain including the Canaries stayed in third place, Sweden came fourth again,  France was fifth, Greece sixth and Croatia seventh.

Telia Denmark offers women's tennis match spectators instant replay on mobile phones

Telia Denmark said spectators at the 30 April tennis match at the Telia Parken stadium in Copenhagen between Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams will be able to watch highlights on their mobile phones. The operator said 15,000 spectators are expected to watch the Champions Battle 2018 in the arena. It said its Telia Parken Live application will show highlights seconds after they occur on court using the Telia Replay function.

Telia Denmark suffers Q1 drop in sales and profit as mobile and fixed customer bases shrink

Telia has reported a sharp drop in net sales and EBITDA in Denmark during the first quarter of 2018, with a fall in both mobile and fixed revenue, as both customer bases shrank. The number of mobile customers declined by 24,000 over the quarter to 1.46 million, fixed broadband subscribers by 9,000 to 105,000 and television customers by 1,000 to 30,000.

Telia Denmark welcomed Samsung's new Galaxy S9 phones into its list of best-selling models for March, with the standard S9 entering the rankings in third place and the S9 Plus in fifth. The iPhone X rose one notch to top of the list from second in February, replacing the Huawei Mate 10 Lite, which fell from first to seventh.

Fibia announces availability of Waoo Webb TV throughout EU from 01 April

Danish regional operator Fibia said customers can watch the television channels in their Waoo! TV package anywhere in the EU from 01 April, on their PC, tablet or smartphone, This also applies to channels selected on an a la carte basis. Access to Waoo Web TV in the EU is valid for up to 30 days at a time, regardless of connection method.

3 Denmark boosts data allowances at no extra charge, raises roaming FUP

3 Denmark said it is improving certain private customer subscriptions, such as expanding data allowances by 40 percent to 67 percent for Fri Tale packages, without putting up prices. In addition, it is raising the roaming fair usage policy (FUP) for customers on 3LikeHome subscriptions from 10 GB to 20 GB. It said that Danish internet use rose by 50 percent in the first half of 2017, according to the Energy Authority.

Telia displays Westeros' Iron Throne at Stockholm branch, launches mobile streaming app

Telia Sweden is running a promotion with HBO Nordic at one of its branch on Kungsgatan in central Stockholm from 23 to 24 March. To mark the start of series eight of HBO's fantasy adventure serial 'Game of Thrones', Telia will be displaying the Iron Throne from Kings Landing in Westeros at the store.

Telia Denmark tests start-up's alarm system in care home

Telia Denmark said that the Sarita CareTech personal safety device that won Telia's Jump digital start-up competition last year has now gone on trial at a care home for elderly people in Aarhus. The Sarita Pearl combines GPS, emergency button, fall alarm and interface allowing family members or staff to monitor the user. The device aims to resolve the problem of wearers being unable to press the manual alarm button in time, said Telia.

3 Denmark lifts FY service revenue, EBITDA, customers but ARPU slips

3 Group reported a 1 percent rise in customer service revenue in the financial year to 31 December 2017, as well as 9 percent growth in EBITDA and a 2 percent increase in customers from 30 June. ARPU was 4 percent lower but contract customer churn held firm at 2.2 percent.

3Denmark extends 3LikeHome roaming to Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina

3 Denmark said that from 12 March, its 3LikeHome roaming service will be extended to include Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Argentina. This reflects a change in Danes' travel habits, the Danish mobile operator said. 3LikeHome is now valid in 57 countries, and allows customers to ring, text, send MMS and use mobile internet in the same way as they would in Denmark at no extra cost.

YouSee offers Denmark's first terabyte mobile broadband package, adds 100 GB mobile telephony bundle

TDC said that its YouSee consumer division will become the first operator in Denmark to offer a 1 terabyte monthly mobile broadband package, and is now offering a mobile telephony package with 100 GB of internet allowance with more foreign calls. The new services aim to cater for the constant rise in Danish internet traffic, it said. YouSee's TV and film application has had a rise of almost 50 percent in use of internet for streaming over the last year, it said.

Telenor said its turnaround programme in Denmark resulted in a performance improvement in 2017, in a market that continues to be very competitive. Revenue increased, and it lifted its number of mobile subscribers. Higher handset sales offset lower fixed revenues, it said.

Telia Finland offers tariffs with European roaming

Telia Finland is offering subscriptions including European roaming. For retail subscribers, the XL package costs EUR 29.90 per month and includes 10 GB of surfing for use in the EU and EAA along with 5,000 call minutes and 5,000 texts and unlimited surfing in Finland, the Nordic region and Baltic states. The L package costs EUR 26.90 and provides 600 call minutes and texts, unlimited roaming in the Nordic and Baltic regions, and 10 GB of surfing in Europe.
