TIM expands LTE-A service to another 60 Italian cities

Telecom Italia's mobile unit TIM has announced the expansion of its LTE-A service, dubbed TIM 4G Plus, to another 60 Italian cities. The new rollout comes a few weeks after the operator activated the service in 60 cities throughout the Italian territory, including Rome, Milan, Turin, Naples and Florence. TIM customers in 120 cities can now access the internet on the go at speeds of up to 225 Mbps, around twice the highest theoretical speed currently available on Italian mobile networks. Consumer and business customers that have already subscribed to any of TIM's 4G offers will be allowed to access the 4G Plus service free of charge until 30 April 2015.
