Twitter CEO steps down
Twitter co-founder Evan Williams stepped down as CEO. In a post on the company blog, Williams said Twitter's COO Dick Costolo would take over as CEO effective immediately. Costolo, whose web content distribution company Feedburner was purchased by Google in 2007, has been at the forefront of efforts to begin monetizing Twitter since he joined the company last year. Williams said Twitter now employs around 300 people, up from 20 when he took over as CEO two years ago. Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey is presently Twitter's chairman while the third founder, Biz Stone serves as creative director.

Twitter co-founder Stone returns to company

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone announced he is returning to full-time work at the company in the next few weeks in order to focus on corporate culture. In a blog post, Stone said his "top focus will be to guide the company culture, that energy, that feeling", alongside CEO Jack Dorsey and CMO Leslie Berland. He will work on ensuring that "everyone understands the whole story of Twitter and each of our roles in that story. I'll shape the experience internally so it's also felt outside the company. More soon."

Jack Dorsey joins The Walt Disney Company board

The Walt Disney Company board of directors has elected Jack Dorsey, chairman of Twitter and CEO of Square, as an independent director, effective immediately. Dorsey will stand for election along with the company's other directors at the annual meeting on 18 March 2014. Pursuant to the tenure policy in the company's corporate governance guidelines that limits board service to 15 years, Judith L. Estrin will not be standing for re-election.

Twitter's head of product stepping down at end of month

Twitter's vice president of product, Jason Goldman, announced his resignation at Paris's LeWeb 2010 conference, saying he needed a break, writes Les Echos. His departure at the end of the month follows co-founder Evan Williams stepping down as CEO in October to focus on product strategy. Goldman told TechCrunch he would still be involved as an advisor for a while and is not leaving to start something new, or to join Facebook or Google.
