
Verizon launches LTE Galaxy Tab from Samsung

Verizon Wireless will launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with LTE on 28 July. The tablet features a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen display, 3-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, NVIDIA Tegra2 dual-core 1 GHz application processor, Adobe Flash 10.3 technology and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The Android 3.1 tablet supports download speeds of 5-12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2-5 Mbps in LTE coverage areas. It also features 1080p HD video playback on a HD TV or other 1080p HD device. The tablet is available in metallic gray or glossy white colours in Verizon Wireless stores and online. Verizon Wireless will offer the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with two-year customer agreements at USD 529.99 for the 16GB model and USD 629.99 for the 32GB model. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 customers will have the option to choose from mobile broadband data plans for USD 30 access for 2GB monthly allowance, USD 50 access for 5GB or USD 80 access for 10GB. A 16GB Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will also be available online for USD 499.99. The Wi-Fi-only model will be available in metallic grey colour. For a limited time, Verizon Wireless customers will get a free USD 25 Media Hub credit from Samsung with their Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 purchase, good towards TV programme purchases. The Samsung Media Hub offers a lineup of films and TV programmes for rent or purchase. Media Hub has been redesigned, allowing customers to playback Media Hub content on their TV through an HDMI adapter that is sold separately. Purchased content can be shared with up to five devices enabled with Media Hub at no extra cost.
