Vertu sold to Uzan vehicle for GBP 50 mln
The luxury smartphone maker Vertu has been sold to Baferton, a Cyprus-registered vehicle funded by Turkish businessman Hakan Uzan, for around GBP 50 million, the Daily Telegraph reports.Started by Nokia, Vertu was sold in 2012 to EQT and then again in 2015 to Hong Kong-based Godin Holdings.

The Uzan family previously invested in setting up mobile operator Telsim, now known as Vodafone Turkey. A spokesman told the paper: "Vertu is a powerful brand with an acknowledged market niche. I look forward to working with the team and providing the investment to enable Vertu to realise its full potential."
