Virgin Media rolls out new Virgin TV 360 connected entertainment service in UK

Virgin Media has announced the launch of the new Virgin TV 360 connected entertainment platform in the UK.

The updated TV platform is offered with a new Mini box and new TV remote with voice control and smart features, to deliver a fully integrated, personalised and voice activated experience. Customers can continue recording six programmes while watching a seventh. They can also watch live TV and on-demand programmes in one room, pause and continue watching in another room. Other new features include Profiles, for families to create their own profiles to control their own pause points, select favourite channels, and get personalised recommendations; and Startover, which lets customers skip back to the start of live programmes.

From launch, all new customers taking a Virgin TV and broadband bundle will get Virgin TV 360 as standard. Existing customers with the Ultimate Oomph bundle, or existing customers upgrading to Ultimate Oomph, will be able to get Virgin TV 360 later in 2020 at no extra cost.

Virgin has also announced a broadband speed boost for Ultimate Oomph customers, increasing their average download speed by 120 Mbps from 516 Mbps to 636 Mbps, at no extra cost. The upgrade from M500 to M600 Fibre Broadband is currently being rolled out to existing customers and will be complete by end-February 2021. The Ultimate Oomph Bundle includes the premium TV package (250 channels), two set-top boxes, ultrafast M500 Fibre Broadband, landline and unlimited mobile SIM for GBP 79.99 per month.
