Chinese handset maker Vivo has officially introduced the Nex 3, its latest flagship smartphone available in LTE and 5G versions. Both Android Pie-based phones feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 Plus processor and a 6.89-inch 1080p screen with 90 degree curved edges called the Waterfall FullView Display, a Super AMOLED panel with a screen-to-body ratio of 99.6 percent. The 4,500mAh battery supports Super FlashCharge 44W fast charging and both models have an in-display fingerprint sensor.
There’s also a triple rear camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide angle 120 degree sensor and a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor. The 16-megapixel elevating selfie camera comes with a f/2.0 aperture in a pop-up mechanism. In addition, the Nex 3 hides physical buttons from sight in the form of virtual buttons called Touch Sense that work via haptic feedback.
No price details were released but Vivo said the Nex 3 series will be available “in the coming months” in Asia Pacific, Southeast China and other markets. The models include a 4G handset with 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and 4G capabilities, a 256 GB version with 5G and the premium 12 GB RAM and 256 GB NEX 3 5G.
