
Vodacom has launched 4G services in Mozambique, reports A Verdade. According to the operator, the service is available in the cities of Maputo, Matola, Beira, a part of the district of Dondo and in the city of Nampula. Vodacom estimates at around 400,000 the market of potential customers for the service.
Vodafone offers all customers a free Sim swap to start using 4G, as well as a welcome bonus of 4 GB of data valid for 30 days.
The company said it used a frequency for 4G that was previously awarded for other technologies. No operator in Mozambique has access to the frequency bands 800, 1,800 or 2,600 MHz, whose auction is being prepared by the government
