Vodafone launches launches Sure Signal Premium service
Vodafone UK has launched the new Sure Signal Premium service for medium and large businesses needing seamless 3G and 4G mobile coverage throughout their workplace. The indoor mobile coverage service is designed to provide a platform for future enterprise with support for location-based analytics and mobile device management. The launch is supported by the company's GBP 900 million network investment in 2013. Sure Signal Premium has been developed by Vodafone in partnership with NEC and SpiderCloud Wireless. It is targeted at businesses with 320 or more employees and more than 3,200 square metres of floor space. Ultrafast 4G Sure Signal Premium available in summer 2014 and is dependent on location.

Vodafone UK signs up 500,000 Red 4G customers

Vodafone UK has signed up 500,000 customers on its Red 4G plans, six months after launch. Vodafone's 4G customers used 300 TB of data in December 2013. The 4G network cover 36 percent of the UK population, with Vodafone targeting indoor 4G coverage of 98 percent of the UK population by 2015. Vodafone eyes UK consumer TV, broadband markets

Vodafone plans to enter the consumer broadband and TV markets in the UK as it looks to boost growth prospects, reports The Telegraph. Speaking after publication of the group's third quarter results, CEO Vittorio Colao said that it would look to offer consumers more services within a year. He added that it was keen to sign content rights details following the success of a deal to bundle 4G mobile contracts with access to the Sky Sports mobile app. Colao said that Vodafone was currently in talks with content

BBC executive to lead Vodafone consumer products unit

The BBC's director of distribution, Alix Pryde, is leaving the broadcaster to join Vodafone UK as head of its consumer products division, Broadcast reports. She will join Vodafone in March, with Garazi Goia, BBC head of commercial management - infrastructure, becoming acting director of distribution.

All UK mobile networks meet 3G coverage requirements

Ofcom has confirmed that all of the UK's major mobile networks are now meeting their 3G coverage obligations. In November 2013, Ofcom announced that Vodafone had failed to meet the 90 percent coverage target by June 2013, only reaching 88.66 percent. Following a further coverage assessment, Ofcom has now found that Vodafone met its obligation ahead of an agreed deadline of end-2013.
