Vodafone UK announced that Vodafone OneNumber customers can now make and receive calls via Amazon Echo devices by linking a mobile number to an Alexa account.
This will allow customers to use Alexa to make and receive hands-free calls on Amazon Echo devices using their existing mobile plan. Vodafone UK is the first mobile operator to offer this service worldwide. Alexa calling with OneNumber will allow customers to keep in touch if they lose their smartphone or run out of battery, and they can also call emergency services directly through their Alexa speaker.
Vodafone OneNumber allows customers to share their mobile plan's data, minutes and texts allowance with multiple devices. It is available at no extra charge to all Red pay-monthly customers.
