
The three operators are the newest on the Canadian market, after acquiring spectrum in 2008 when the market was opened up. However, they remain much smaller than the three dominant players, Bell, Rogers and Telus.
The CWTA said in a statement that they had been "valued members" of the industry group, and their departure was "unfortunate and surprising". The CWTA rejected the accusation that it represents the interests of only certain members, and said it "has always and will continue to work on behalf of all of its members". It added the three companies would be missed and would be welcome to return in future.
