Xu takes over as Huawei CEO
Eric Xu will take over as acting CEO of Huawei Technologies from 01 October. The Chinese company has a rotating CEO system, where the CEO acts as the primary person of the company's operations and crisis management during his tenure and is responsible for convening and chairing the meetings of board of directors' executive committee and the company's executive management team. Xu, who was previously deputy chairman, will act as CEO until the end of March 2014. He replaces Ren Zhengfei.

Huawei has ruled out making any acquisitions to take advantage of weak rivals such as BlackBerry or Alcatel-Lucent. Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei has ended its push for business in the US after seeing its efforts blocked repeatedly over security fears, reports the Financial Times.
