Yahoo acquires TV check-in app IntoNow
Yahoo has agreed to acquire IntoNow, a 'TV check-in app' that automatically identifies what TV show the user is watching and shares the information on Facebook and Twitter. According to an IntoNow blog post, the start-up plans to soon launch app versions for Android and iPad. No financial details related to the transaction have been disclosed. However, Yahoo sources confirmed to Mashable that the acquisition price ranges between USD 20 million and USD 30 million, and IntoNow will receive 80 percent of the total purchase price in cash and the rest in stock options. IntoNow's seven-person team will join Yahoo. IntoNow has around 600,000 users and averages 25,000 to 35,000 tags per day.
