Yahoo! appoints Airey to lead EMEA operation
Yahoo! has appointed Dawn Airey as senior vice president of the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operation. She will report to COO Henrique de Castro. From 01 November, Christophe Parcot, who has served as Yahoo!'s interim lead of EMEA, will take on a new role with Yahoo! focused on expanding its business in the region. Airey has held senior positions in the majority of the commercial broadcasters in the UK.

Yahoo! to transfer Swiss staff to European HQ in Ireland

Yahoo! has confirmed to Agence Telegraphique de Suisse (ATS) that it plans to close its European headquarters in Rolle, Switzerland, early next year and transfer its operations to offices in London and Dublin. The company chose Ireland as its European HQ in 2005. The news first reported in L'Hebdo was confirmed by MEA communications director Judith Sterl, who explained that focusing its resources at fewer locations encourages collaboration and innovatrion.
